Cabbage Patch Kids--why Has It Never Happened Again? ?
I remember the stories of when cabbage patch kids first came out of of the mob scenes, the riots when they first came out, my parents spoke of having to go across to the states to get one, seen a parent get punched in the face to get one etc. i knew i was supposed to be grateful to even get one even if it was the *one* i didn 't want, nor the right style or the right sex but anyway...why has another toy never reached that pandemonium? even with all the cool electric toys you get these days, and the shortage of the product, there 's never been another thing like it---why not?not that i 'm hoping for someone to fight for a toy- but why is it that the buildup for those dolls were soooo special, so worth forgetting your head and why hasn 't there been another toy like that?! What name did it come with?i ask b/ c my mom was telling my something about how a guy named mickey bonner had a mom who came to him w/ her starving/ dying kid in her arms. and he asked if the child had a c.b.k. and she said yes. and so he said he wanted the doll, and the certificate and he took it and did some research and the name meant "god of starvation " and so he got rid of it and cursed off everything and the kid got better and lived and everything. so, i 'm just curious what the name is that it came with.thinkbabynames.com/ meaning/ 0/ edith (Read answers)

I can 't find sewing patterns for my daughter 's build a bear dolls, but noticed some patterns for cabbage patch kids dolls on ebay, does anyone have both types of dolls, and can they wear each others clothes? if they can then i should be able to use cpk patterns to make bab clothes...to luluanalgrape: if i knew how to make my own pattern i wouldn 't be asking the question now would i? talk about needing to get a life... Cabbage Patch Kids..smell?
Well when i was younger i had a cabbage patch kid, her name was jessica something (i was young) and when i was ten i told mum to donate her to a more needy child....anyway, i noticed that cabbage patch kids, have a really unique smell to them, and it never goes away. i had jessica for years and my toybox and room reeked of this awesome smell..anyway today (im almost 17) i bought a new one (piper yasmin) as part of therapy. and she has the smell too!...i felt like a child again, and will never forget jessica, but i was wondering....what is that smell?...no one ever talks about the smell?...i think its great, but im confused as to why it never goes away....hmmm.thanks for any answers to my questions. Cabbage Patch Kids What Does Number Mean On Neck?
- does the number in a box on the back of the vinyl head, near the neck represent the mold style of the head or does it stand for the number of the doll style. does it represent something else? i have two 1985 dolls and one has #24 - she has long dark hari and one has #64 and that is a baldie. there is also a tag on the long haired one that has the number 9163 stamped on it - any ideas what this means? thanks in advance for any collecting help you can offer. Cabbage Patch Kids...?
I have four cabbage patch dolls, three of which i was going throw away, but before i do i am asking if anyone knows about their value, if any at all.the first one (the one i was going to keep!) is soft bodied with a vinyl head, on which it says 'first edition, 1990, manufactured by hasbro '. on it 's bottom it is signed xavier roberts with black/ blue ink but no date. on the label it says hasbro copyright 1986, and the cpk logo. i 'm not specifically sure which doll it is, but it has a small tuft of looped orange hair on top, and an orange transparent plastic dummy.the second one is all vinyl with no hair, and has 'mattel 's first edition, 1978, 1983 ' on it 's head, and '1995 ' on it 's back. the signature is different to the earlier one, with a kind of loopy x instead of the two straight lines of the former x, and is in purple ink. this doll was for using in water and had a rubber ring with an attached "shower " to it, if i remember rightly.the third doll is all vinyl with long dark curly hair, and has 'mattel, 1996 ' on the head, '1996 ' on it 's back. the signature is the same as the second one, but in light blue ink. this was the brushing teeth doll, with a detachable toothbrush.the fourth one is all vinyl and quite large, with long blonde hair. it has 'mattel, 1978, 1983 ' on the head, and '1996 ' on it 's back. the signature is the same as the third one. this doll came with special crayons to draw on it.i am certain all four are genuine cabbage patch kids.so, ought i keep them all?thanks ange, i 'm going to look and see on ebay.molly, they all have dates, but, (regarding the first one) i read that the earlier cpks had xavier roberts 's signature printed in black. ones after that were coloured in green, blue, purple etc., and had the date right next to the signature (as well as the date on the head/ body.)
